Good to know

  • Our wines are lesser-known varieties from around the world, carefully chosen by our buyers.
  • Mataro, also known as Mourvèdre, has been grown in Australia since the mid-19th century.
  • Many of the old vines were uprooted in the 1980s as part of a government scheme.
  • A few savvy growers realized its potential and kept their vines.
  • The wine has juicy berry fruit flavors, hints of Chinese five-spice, pepper, and violet, and aromas of cocoa and licorice.
