Duvel is a Belgian beer brewed by the fourth generation of the Moortgat family, inspired by English ales
Barley is germinated for five days to turn it into malt, then 2 qualitative hops are added
Duvel has a first fermentation and maturation in storage tanks, followed by a second fermentation and maturation in the bottle
Duvel has a high alcohol content (8.5%) and a dry feel
Duvel has fruity touches with a subtle hopped aroma, a slightly bitter aftertaste and dry finish
The typical bitterness is obtained by adding a variety of aromatic Saaz-Saaz & Styrian Golding hops
Duvel is best served at a temperature of 5°C, poured at an angle of 45° in a Tulip glass
Duvel pairs well with Flemish classics such as steak, fries and asparagus, as well as chicory, mussels, lobster, fillet of pork, veal, exotic and slightly seasoned dishes, béarnaise sauces and flavourings such as ginger
Duvel also matches well with many hard cheeses such as Red Leicester and cheddars
Duvel has won the World's Best Pale Ale - Belgian Style Strong award in 2018 and 2020 - Gold award.
